Beautyzip: LA Launch Party


I had the pleasure of attending Beautyzip's recent launch party at the Resident in downtown LA. Upon arriving to the event, I was immediately impressed by the branding and creative direction. Maggie Chan, Social Media and Marketing Manager for Beautyzip, welcomed the influencers with a warm introduction and the overall mission for the shop.

Who believes that all beauty products are made equal? I definitely don't. Even with beautiful product images and compelling marketing strategies, certain brands are not 100% sincere about the effects they advertise for their consumers.

This is where Beautyzip comes in for a change. 

With countless brands in the market, Beautyzip is the perfect channel that stations only products that do good for our body. Two of the notable, healthy brands under the shop are Da Vinci Hair Care and Dermalogica. Both of which are honest brands that aim to provide the best for their customers. Having tried Da Vinci in the past (see reviews here and here), I passionately support their objective and promise of hair revival and treatment. Same with Dermalogica, I noticed a huge difference in my skin on hydration and sensitivity after just one use of their products. Eliminating the hassle of research and a tiresome shopping experience, Beautyzip offers a one-stop shop to bring us natural and organic products with awesome, healthy benefits.

Da Vinci Hair Event


Oh how I adore Da Vinci! I was very honored to attend their first influencer event at the Stereoscope Coffee shop. The event was filled with delicious baked goods, refreshing lattes and of course, a deep dive into the holy grail of hair. Maggie, the social media manager of Da Vinci, did a fantastic job by creating a close-knit environment where the bloggers could share about the details of their journey. With a warming atmosphere and thoughtful treats, I was excited to learn more about Da Vinci's origins and its long-term goals.

Following my review with the Hydrate collection (see here), I was grateful to go home with the Keratin collection via the Box of Happiness. The quality of the shampoo plus conditioner were as excellent as the Hydrate bottles. The Keratin set exceeded my expectations on hair care. Ever since I started incorporating Da Vinci into my shower routine, I noticed a drastic difference in the strength of my hair and its overall health. Both Hydrate and Keratin are exceptional collections but I recommend grabbing Keratin if you are looking to bring your damaged hair back to life. The Keratin bottles feature a blend of chia seeds that aim to help repair thinning hair and prevent scalp infection. If you're wondering it's a miracle in a bottle... well, it definitely is! Plus, did I mention that it smells incredible??

A little side history....
I always had to chop a huge chunk of my hair off because I could not figure out how to deal with the dryness. It didn't matter what climate I lived in (moist and humid or cold and dry), I always had frustrating brittle ends that never made it! As you know, long hair is my signature look. Thankfully those days are over with the discovery of Da Vinci.

Rent the Runway

The night began at Neuehouse, a neat little creative space located in Hollywood. I was excited when I received an invitation to attend Rent the Runway's west coast event. The bloggers got to preview exclusive designer pieces and celebrate its first store launch in California. I remember when I used to live in Virginia, I would hear all about Rent the Runway. It makes me happy that a few years later, I got to be a part of their expansion. Out of all the subscription companies and rental fashion brands, I really appreciate Rent the Runway's efforts in planning such a great event and building a blogger community out here.
Immediately as I arrived, I was greeted by men in tuxedos and sparkling champagne. Not to mention, Rent the Runway provided us rides to and from the event through Lyft. How amazing is that? To top it off, we were served delicious bites and desserts throughout the night. We snapped photos of the space and got ourselves a few minutes with the photobooth. I sincerely look forward to what Rent the Runway will bring next!

Long Beach

I visited Long Beach recently to attend the Padre restaurant opening! The event was held on this gorgeous rooftop that had an amazing rustic atmosphere. Not to mention, we were served delicious Latin food and tasted tequila-mixed cocktails. Every corner of the rooftop was decorated with vibrant florals and string lights were hung above our tables. We were overlooking the beautiful city while we celebrated Padre!

Vanity Fair: Pre-Emmy Panel

The innovative space at Platform by Culver City is where Vanity Fair held its annual Pre-Emmy event. The event was on September 17th and lasted about eight hours! Each hour had its own segment of interviews and panel Q&A. The bit that I enjoyed most was the Vanity Fair editors panel. Coming from a television fanatic myself, I had a great time learning from the editors' opinions and thoughts on the nominations.
