clouded mind, faded line

19 May

Eliza J's collection of pattern dresses has caught my eye every time I browse through the Nordstrom catalog. This dress was front and center on the page and on the store mannequin. I instantly fell in love with the intricate pattern and silhouette-- the design very much resembled vintage and fine china patterns. Michelle and I explored different areas of the Volunteer Park and found clean backgrounds to showcase the dress. My favorite shots were definitely the detail angles-- as I am writing this post, I can still amazed and utterly impressed with the delicate print.

Although I am a huge fan of the dress, I don't agree with the fit at all.  Standing in a size 2 (smallest size in the collection) as a size 0 and 162cm tall, I had inches of space on the waist and hip areas. Perhaps that was the designer's intention to incorporate a loose fitted mermaid style. I checked out the petite sizing as well but unfortunately the smallest was a size 6 -- that wasn't going to work at all.

I have a lot of faith in Eliza J's dress collection but after shooting two dresses (Midnight Daydream) for them, I'm starting to think that her collection is not designed for petite figures. However, her dresses are still absolutely stunning, I just wish that they were more flexible on the fit!

Anyhow, this was yet another lovely experience with my dear friend Michelle. Shooting with her opens up so many creative doors and I cannot wait to get back to Seattle to shoot more nature scenes. This weekend I am excited to find myself in the the Bay Area again for all new adventures and all new photos! ;-)

Stay tuned for an upcoming post and keep up with me on my Instagram! Wish you all have a great rest of your week and hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did! xoxo
