Baddies Real Talk

We all have those days where we just want to relax and not think about anything else. Actually almost everyday for me - I've been working nonstop both at my day job and for the blog. Since about a month ago, my workload has doubled and I have been writing restlessly at work. For those who don't know me, I'm an Ecommerce copywriter. I write about 75-100 copies on a busy day and 45-75 on an average day. That can range from product copies, emails, banners, social media captions, etc. Then as soon as I get a break, I get on my Instagram and try to catch up on my feed and/or post new content. This never-ending, exhausting cycle plus a few unhappy incidents really drained me out.

If you do know me, you'd already know that I'm a hustler, the real deal. I say what I mean and I do it with my 100%. I don't mind the hard work but I hate working towards things I don't care about. That's why I left my tech job. I left my very stable, lucrative job behind to chase my creative dreams. You're probably thinking, "this girl's nuts!" To tell you the truth, I can work a tech job but I want to do more than that. I was so eager to move on and find something closer to what I believe in. Still, I'm not sure if I'm wasting time where I'm on the wrong career path, again. Here's some crazy talk: I doze off sometimes and think about dropping everything and becoming an actor. But that's unrealistic.

Anyway, I'm not tired because of the work. I'm tired because I don't feel like my work is meaningful. I find it hard to validate what I do online and yet it is the only thing I can look forward to nowadays. Not this current set but I started shooting my own photos and doing self-portraits. I really want to showcase my raw vision to the world. Unless requested, I will not be reaching out to any photographers at this moment. If I'm going to lead my own direction one day, this is where it will start. With my own camera, my own lighting and my own edits, I am more than happy to hustle this the hard way. After all, it is my brand and my own content.

In the mean time, I will keep this cycle going until I can finally do this full-time. :-)

Also, I'm loving my BADDIES longline flannel thanks to HIBEKO, a modern streetwear brand created by my talented friend, Jasmine Bae. Be sure to show her some love and support - she just dropped her new collection and it's dope!

Grey Scale

Feeling refreshed in my casuals on this post- can you believe it's already September? I swear summer just started yesterday. Honestly, these past two months have been the craziest for me. Lots of ups and downs (finally way up!) in my work life and thankfully, only ups in my social life. :-) I am so fortunate to have some of the best girlfriends here in LA to blog together and shoot. I feel like I'm finally in the right place.

Alfred's

Ever feel thirsty while you're roaming the streets of WeHo? Alfred's Tea is always a good idea to grab some delicious and simple boba. Of course, being in Alfred's is basically the same as being in one of LA's most well-known photo ops.
